ABOUT JAMMU AND KASHMIR
 

Jammu and Kashmir is the northern-most state of the Indian union. Apart from India it shares borders with a number of countries including China, Russia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Geo-physically the region of Jammu and Kashmir presents distinct climatological and topographical areas. The fabled valley of Kashmir is typically cold-temperate area with beautiful hills and vales. The region of Jammu, towards the south, blends into the northern plains of India. Towards the south-east is the region of Ladakh which is an arid cold desert.
