Vaccination is the most important factor of taking care of your puppy, which has to be done for the heath of your dog. The vaccination is nothing but immunizing the dog against the diseases in a very simple manner. It a component to preventive care for your dog. Most people think of vaccines as safe and protective, but vaccination is a serious medical procedure with significant risks. The vaccination schedule should be strictly followed. Always make sure you maintain the complete record of the vaccination that are completed with the date of completion.
The vaccination should certainly begin by the time your puppy is 7-8 weeks of age. There are certain disease like Rabies that has been effectively controlled because of the strong vaccination programs in many countries. Rabies is dieses that can be transmitted to humans too. Rabies is a deadly viral infection that is mainly spread by infected animals. Rabies is an acute encephalitis (infection of the brain) caused by a virus believed to be infectious for most mammals. Transmission of the virus is usually through a bite. Rabies is a disease that affects the brain. It´s usually passed from animal to animal but it can be passed from animals to people. Rabies is a serious disease that attacks the CNS (central nervous system) and causes acute encephalitis. This year, over 55,000 people around the world will die from rabies. This disease mainly affects the brain. Dogs should receive their first Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age, and the vaccine should be bolstered at 1 year of age. Thereafter, boosters should be given every 1-3 years, depending on the recommendation of your veterinarian, and the manufacturer of the vaccine.
Puppies receive protection from disease from the antibodies in their mother's milk during the first three days of nursing. The length of time the protection lasts is different for each puppy. Therefore vaccinations are given to "boost" that protection until the puppy can produce his or her own antibodies. There is no doubt that vaccinations are one of the cheapest and most effective ways of preventing serious illness to your dog. Adhering to an appropriate dog vaccination schedule can ensure that your puppy or dog will continue to live a long, healthy life. If you have any questions about what vaccines your pet needs, or when he or she needs them, contact your veterinarian to ensure your dog is protected.
So if you are planning to buy a new puppy or already have one, kindly consult your nearest vet who will guide you and will do the vaccination, it is very important for your dog to be vaccinated. Remember If you are vaccinating your dog which means you are not only taking care of your dog, you are also taking a step towards prevention of disease to get transmit to other dogs, as your dog is already vaccinated . For the vaccination of the dog find a good veterinarian, ask fellow dog owners, breeders or humane associations. Or, search at any pet lover’s social networking website to find your city's veterinary medical association for a referral.

Dogs need to have vaccinations to guard against disease. When your dog is a puppy they will need a distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and corona combination between six to eight, nine to eleven, twelve to fourteen, and sixteen to seventeen weeks. They will also need these shots again every twelve months. The next vaccination is a bordetella administered at fourteen weeks and every six months. Rabies must be given at sixteen weeks and again every twelve to thirty- six months.
